Ismit Singh- May his soul rest in peace.

Now a days Indian television is going through a revolutionary phase where all channels are flooded with reality shows. The shows boast of huge star jury members, huge sets and lots of entertainment. Though each show will have its own set of viewers some of them have huge impact on the audience and get High TRPs.

I am big fan of singing/comedy/ dance reality shows. Every Friday and Saturday evening, I fight with my roommates to make sure that the remote is in my hand. Indian Idol, saregamapa, Jo jeeta wo hi superstar, Laughter challenge, Nach baliye etc have impressed me in one or other way. With all this background today I want to write few words about one of my favorite contestant in the show VOI Ishmit Singh.

This guy among most loved contestant in VOI used to make viewers go through romantic mood when he sings. In spite of wat ever dramas played on sets,he kept himself cool, concentrated on his singing and put his 100% efforts to give his best in each performance. Though he has given many superb performances, the one he gave in Jo jeeta wo hi superstar, Kehne ko jansne bahara hai touched my heart so much. Audience went crazy, jury got so much excited and praised him for his splendid job. I just became big fan of his voice. Every time, I liked his clean voice and his gentleman behaviour. But I never I knew this voice will leave us so soon. I was shocked to see the news splashing on channels about his death and browsed all sites to see if I can get some more information. What a bad news. When we outsiders can feel so bad for this news, how can his parents and family feel to see their successful son loosing his life at such young age. As a fan of his voice I thought let me pay tribute to his voice.

May his soul rest in peace. God give his family strenth to bear the pain..

Drama I directed at the age of 13.

Every one of us know Master Kishen has created a record as youngest film director at the age of 10. I was sitting and thinking how I was at the age of 10. Though I was not so knoweldged to direct a film/drama I used to act in drama like most school kids do. I used to participate in all cultural events like Singing, Speech, Writing competition and acting in dramas. But I never dreamt I will direct a drama and win a prize at the age of 13. The story is intresting..

I acted in a drama of Hiranya kashyapa- Bhakta Phralada at the age of 10. I was in school 5th and I played Bhakta phralada. The drama became very famous in my home town and our team received lot of prizes for that. Rehearsing for the drama so many times, made me remember dialogues of all characters in the same.

After 6th, I joined a residential school Navoday and moved to different place. We used to have "Houses" in new school and I was part of Nalanda House. Lot of different cultural and sports competitions were held between houses. In a similar way Skit competition was held.

There were four houses in our school and students from 6th to 12 can take part in the drama. I went to my house teacher and told I have this drama and I remember all the dialogues. I called my senior friend Praveen to act as Hiranya kashyapa and I said i will act as Phralada. In the evening house master took us to see if it will be suitable for the competition. I had prepared myself with all dialogues and showed my senior how to do his role. I was taken aback with the surprise when sir asked me to be Hiranya kashyapa and him as Phralada though he was senior to me. Its nothing to do with my bad looks ;) but the way I was acting in villain role. Finally cast was finalised. We rehearsed the drama and sir helped us with the dress code. We were finally ready for the competition.

The day came for the final battle. There were 4 plays ready, one from each house. We were totally shocked to see all elder students taking part in the other dramas. I mean 11th and 12th standard guys with expensive dress, lot of confidence and lot of preparation. One after other dramas over and out of other 3, 2 dramas were fantastic. The crowd gave them huge round of applauds and even we liked them forgetting the rivalry. Even our drama went as expected. There was no disaster.

Finally it was result time, and we were sure we will be in 3rd position. But for our surprise our name was called for the second position considering our age. Though we felt happy for the prize received, it was such an encouraging moment when our seniors came us and congratulated us who took the 3rd prize. The jury member was the house master of the drama who came 3rd place and we felt so good for his nature. He compromised for his house and gave us the prize considering our efforts and age.

Over all the day has been locked in my memory as surprisingly happy day.
